Meet The Team
Stuart Tranter
Stuart is a Fellow of the ballroom branch of the IDTA and has also been awarded full Licentiate status in the Latin American branch, achieving distinction across the five Latin American dances.
He has had a great deal of experience as an amateur competitor. First as a medalist , winning the IDTA Midland area medalist of the year in both Ballroom and Latin and as an open competitor winning the All England Amateur Ten Dance championships. He has danced many times at the Winter Gardens Blackpool making the final one hundred. He has also danced in competitions in Russia, France, Spain and Belgium.
Stuart is a past committee member of the MAD Club organizing team matches, squad training and has acted as treasurer.
Recently he has seen a return to the dance floor partnering Lynne for her ISTD solo competitions and also taking part in teacher student competitions.
Lynne Butcher
Lynne enjoys taking part in IDTA South East Area competitions in both Ballroom and Latin American. She has also competed in ISTD Solo dance events with Stuart dancing as her partner. She has qualified for the finals in both Ballroom and Latin American which are held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
Lynne is a founder member of the Cheek to Cheek Team.
Jenny Sampson
Jenny met her husband Bob in 2002 and they danced competitively until his death
in 2014.
In that time they made 2 British National Finals in Blackpool, were top of
the Over 50's chart in England for 2 years and won countless championships
including All England, West of England, South of England,West London, Greater
London, Devon, Hampshire, Essex, Sussex and Middlesex championships.
They represented England in Holland for many years and entertained numerous audiences with their dance expertise, culminating in a show with 3 other couples in 2008.
Jenny joined Cheek to Cheek as a pupil in 2015 and has since become a valued member of our team.
